in hamburg nobody knows kaseko, because we don't have people from suriname here. i am a huge soca & calypso fan and i don't know much about kaseko, but i like it!
I don't believe that there are Kaseko parties in Amsterdam.
If you are lucky some Caribbean discos might play some Kaseko, but it is not the main course like Salsa and Merengue.
You will find more, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Soca and Zouk and of course Soul.
Not even in places where Surinamese people frequently visit or own you will have only Kaseko music. To say the truth, I don't believe you will hear more then 4 Kaseko songs at one party.
Surinamese people play Kaseko music more at home parties, like birthdays when someone reaches e.g. the age of 40, 50, etc. then the theme is Kaseko.
Okay, maybe someone else can point you to a Kaseko party in Amsterdam, which I am not aware of.
maybe this message is to late but in the future buy KASEKO/surinam music on the amsterdam markets ( such as dappermarkt , albert cuyp , and every market in ams zuid oost, (kraaien nest and ganzen hoef ), and a lot of other cd shops) and i don't if bally is well informed but there are almost evry week kaseko parties in amsterdam or rotterdam , some times in utrecht or tilburg( and this for a lot of years already) , kaseko is not only played on birthdayparties ( this was never a fact) ( because ther are a lot of disco's with kaseko music in their programming also people celebrates their birtday with kaseko bands on 1 , 5 , 10 , 15 , 20 , 25 .30 years celebrations . also kaseko plays on a lot of big festivals all over europa ( by YAKKI FAMIRIE ) such as NORTH SEA FESTIVAL , antilliaanse feesten belgium , france , denmark , paris , zwitzerland , germany , etc etc ) for info on kaseko : check google , type : KASEKO , or YAKKI FAMIRIE , LA ROUGE and you'll find info you can't check out in a year abt KASEKO in NL and EUROPE . i hope this message reaches also MOINSER MANN, and also i hope this message is also good info for BALLY
Hi John, thanks for correcting my statement about the Kaseko parties. Thing is that Moinser Mann was looking for a Kaseko party, meaning strictly Kaseko, just like the Salsa and Merengue parties, where only Salsa or Merengue is played.
Frankly I was not aware that you also have Kaseko parties where only Kaseko is played, as all Surinamese Discos I have been, it was never more then 4 to 5 tracks for the whole evening.
So we are not talking about “kaseko music in their programming, but a real Kaseko party where Kaseko is the main course, and then you have also other music around it.

Can you tell us which clubs in Amsterdam have Kaseko parties? And with a Kaseko party I don’t mean that they play just some Kaseko, but as main course.
I know that occasionally some clubs might have a band playing, but this is not something common, it looks like Kaseko is being discriminated or banned, as you hardly hear it.
Strange that no one pointed Moinser Mann to a Kaseko party in Amsterdam, so it looks like a lot of Surinamese people don’t know these places where Kaseko is the main course, as I ended my last message on this topic with: “Okay, maybe someone else can point you to a Kaseko party in Amsterdam, which I am not aware of.
It would be a nice idea as well to have Kaseko festivals, just like we have the Salsa festivals. John, maybe your thing to organize one.
BTW, I see that on the 31 of December, Caribbean will have Zonnebloem, as the End of year pagara party, so only on special occasions.

hello bally there are no such things as kaseko tenties mostly the locations are hired locations ( can b a disco or a big party center as i know ther are a few "suri "tenties like caribean or el mejor , ther are no kaseko disco's either ( in the past ther was spaceball (rdam), cash , escape , locomotion , bubbles ) for now location are , nighttown , odeon , party center royal , sunrise etc etc ( all hired)( in the " young generation " scene ( 15 20 years of age )there are plenty parties with bands as la caz , aviong boys , la rouge , the rhytms , etc etc ( pls check lifestyle magazine PLEASURE and check online suri radio's as RADIO STANVASTE , RADIO EBONY , MART RADIO, RADIO FAYALOBI ,RADIO FAMIRIE, MIGHTY RADIO for concert or party info) for the elder generation there are also a lot of kaseko parties with groups as combinatie 16 , klein maar fijn , ( also on special winti kaseko parties) , zonnebloem , ghabiang crew 2 e kamer etc etc , ( for info on this parties check ( as above , pleasure , onl radio etc etc ). ABT THE KASEKO FESTIVALS /every year ther are lots of kaseko festivals organized in the local scene and also on a bIgger level , for instance during KWAKOE FESTIVAL AND PLEASURE FESTIVAL if you take my andvise and check on google ( or other search engine) for YAKKI FAMIRIE you'll notice thaT YAKKI( PURE KASEKO , (not would b stuff) performed at every big festival( or theaters like melk weg and paradiso) in europa NORTH SEA JAZZ , ANTIL FEESTEN(hoogstraten), and lots more , YAKKI FAMIRIE shared stages with big names in the latin , jazz , and world music circuit as , MERIAM MAKEBA ? OSCAR D'LEON , WILFRIDO VARGASS CELIA CRUZZ TITO PUENTE GERALDO PILOTO MACEO PARKER ROY HARGROVE FELA KUTI EL CANARIO IFANG BONDI VOCAL SAMPLING DENISE JANNAH AND LOTS LOTS LOTS MORE ( made a album together with MANOLITO DENISE JANNAH GERARDO ROSALES , ROSS ( faluma ) so lucky me ( thx for the suggestion for organizing but there is already something going on) so yes kaseko is NOT YET so famous and well known as salsa merengue bachata etc etc , but we are ON TRACK and w 're keep moving !!!
so pls next time when a non suri ask something about KASEKO ( or other suri case) pls info everywhere you can ( you're a suri so you know the ways IF YOU WANT) before you give incomplete and dated info . BUT THX ANY WAY

Hi John, thanks again for the amount of information you have provided once more. This information is very well received and very appreciated. Very useful, I will check on these as it has been too long that I have been at a Kaseko theme party, and then I’m talking about Surinam time, about 20 years ago.
With the Kaseko festivals, you also mean dancing, just like they have Salsa dance competitions, are there also Kaseko dance competitions, what we used to call Strey dansie?
I will follow your advice and check out the Pleasure, as I am also very fond of Kaseko and Kawina.
